AUG 2009 | ROADWAYS INVESTS £7M IN NEW EQUIPMENT TO BOLSTER FLEET

The final 26 Volvo FH 440s concluding an order of 91 new Euro 5 specified vehicles and 200 44ton tri axle sliding trailers, will be delivered to Roadways Container Logistics ahead of the seasonal peak for container haulage.

Sporting the new livery which signifies a fresher, brighter, independent Roadways, the new additions will compliment the current fleet of 270 owned vehicles and 600 trailers, strategically positioned across the major industrial areas of the UK.

The Euro 5 standards meet the highest demands of the government in the drive to reduce carbon emissions, underlining Roadways' commitment to the environment.

Phil Clinton National Fleet Manager for Roadways said “Volvo were successful in acquiring the Roadways order by not only supplying a very clean fuel efficient fleet vehicle, but applying a very flexible aftermarket Package providing Roadways stringent cost control over the five year life of the vehicles & incorporating the very latest web based Telematics systems, assisting Roadways with their driver awareness & fuel efficient Driver training programs”.
